Field Engineer – LWD/DD

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to join its regional Drilling Services team. You will work under direct supervision, learning to read and design well plans, interpret drilling dynamics, and operate logging‑while‑drilling (LWD) and directional drilling tools on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Read and analyze well plans and execute directional drilling operations.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting at the wellsite.
• Follow all safety, HSE, and legal compliance procedures.
• Complete required training programs within the Applications Engineer‑1 curriculum.
• Support supervisors with additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
• Fundamental understanding of engineering principles with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Willingness to travel to rig sites, customer facilities, and training events.
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a global matrix organization.
