Finance and Contracts Officer – EU Delegation Kenya

About the role

The European Union Delegation in Nairobi is seeking a Finance and Contracts Officer for its Regional Partnerships Unit. The role supports the Team Leader in managing financial and contractual matters, ensuring compliance with EU directives and facilitating effective collaboration across the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on financial and budgetary issues to Delegation staff and beneficiaries.
• Organise and deliver training on contractual and financial procedures.
• Monitor and control the performance and priorities of assigned operations, reporting significant issues and solutions to the Team Leader.
• Participate in negotiations of technical and financial aspects of contracts.
• Support the Team Leader in decision‑making and execution of tasks, promoting alignment with Headquarters’ directives.
• Facilitate collaborative workflows between initiation and verification phases within the section.

Required profile

• Kenyan national or resident holding a valid work permit.
• Ability to work autonomously with a high degree of responsibility.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Proactive attitude and capacity to support team performance.
