Senior Grants & Compliance Officer – Pan Africa

About the role
The Senior Grants & Compliance Officer will lead the management and oversight of grant portfolios supporting the DREEM Phase II initiative across Africa. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure that funding is used effectively, complies with donor requirements, and contributes to the programme’s goal of empowering refugee‑displaced and host‑community youth.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of grants, including budgeting, disbursement, and financial reporting.
- Monitor compliance with donor regulations, internal policies, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and submit timely grant reports, financial statements, and audit documentation.
- Oversee the RLO Opportunity Fund, ensuring financial access and accountability for Refugee‑Led Organizations.
- Provide technical assistance to partners and RLOs on grant management and compliance best practices.
- Coordinate with WUSC’s program teams to embed compliance processes across functional areas.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks related to grant implementation.
Required profile
- University degree in International Development, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in grants management, compliance, or financial oversight within NGOs or international development agencies.
- Demonstrated experience working in refugee or displaced‑person contexts, preferably in Africa.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with a track record of delivering accurate financial documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners, including local NGOs and Refugee‑Led Organizations.
