Finance Assistant

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the NEAR financial operations at Adeso's Nairobi office. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role handles day‑to‑day finance tasks, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with internal policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Navision cashbook daily, ensuring accurate balances.
• Review payment requests for completeness, correct coding, approvals, and budget availability before disbursement.
• Assist in reconciling bank, cash, and other balance‑sheet accounts and post transactions in Navision.
• Process supplier invoices, staff expense claims, travel advances, and reimbursements promptly.
• Keep organized and complete financial records, including invoices and receipts.
• Support month‑end close processes, financial reporting, and audit preparation.

Required profile

• Experience in handling routine finance and accounting tasks.
• Ability to work accurately with financial data and adhere to deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Navision (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) for cashbook management and transaction posting.
