Finance Officer – Global Support Office (Nairobi)

About the role

The Global Support Office (GSO) in Nairobi needs a Finance Officer to provide financial and administrative support for programme delivery, missionary grants and global operations. Reporting to the Finance & Admin Manager, the role is a 12‑month fixed‑term position within an international NGO committed to justice and poverty reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily financial transactions and payment requests for the GSO.
• Collaborate with GSO teams on financial planning to ensure funds are available for activities.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports, monitoring budget compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of donor and internal financial reports.
• Reconcile bank and petty‑cash statements, flag low balances and material reconciling items.
• Maintain balance‑sheet ledger reconciliation and submit monthly reports to HQ.
• Ensure all transactions are fully supported, approved and compliant with Trócaire procedures.
• Oversee filing of finance documents to maintain a robust audit trail.
• Verify that expenditures are correctly coded and posted in the Agresso‑UNIT4 system.

Required profile

• Experience in financial processing, reporting and reconciliation within an NGO or similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of budgeting and donor‑fund compliance.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and communicate financial information clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Agresso UNIT4 finance system.
