Volunteer Accountant for Reproductive Health NGO in Kenya (4-6 weeks)

About the role

This short‑term volunteer position supports a Kenyan reproductive‑health NGO in strengthening its financial management. Over 4‑6 weeks you will help modernise finance processes, improve reporting and ensure robust controls as the organisation expands.

Key responsibilities

• Review and re‑validate existing standard operating procedures and the finance manual.
• Recommend and draft updated finance and operations protocols that maintain controls while delegating authority.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to create budgets, migrate them into QuickBooks Online and set up regular budget‑to‑actual variance analysis.
• Refine systems for monthly management reports and develop templates for quarterly and annual reporting.
• Design automated dashboards to streamline data collection, management reporting and board decision‑making.

Required profile

• Qualified accounting professional with experience in non‑profit finance.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and financial reporting.
• Ability to work with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills for budgeting, variance analysis and dashboard creation.
