Food & Beverage Assistant (Cook) – Hospitality Support

About the role

We are seeking a diligent, disciplined, and customer‑focused Food & Beverage Assistant to support both kitchen and front‑of‑house operations at our company restaurant in Miwani, Kisumu. The role ensures smooth service delivery, excellent guest experiences, and high standards of hygiene and organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily restaurant operations, supporting kitchen and front‑of‑house activities.
• Prepare food, arrange meals, and serve guests while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
• Coordinate internal company receptions, business receptions, and meal arrangements for leadership, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen, dining, and front‑of‑house areas, including supplies, utensils, and tableware.
• Support implementation of 6S management standards for a safe, orderly environment.
• Collaborate with kitchen and front‑of‑house staff to ensure efficient food service and timely meal delivery.
• Monitor food handling procedures to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
• Prepare and arrange dining areas for meetings, events, and special functions.
• Handle, store, and account for kitchen supplies and equipment.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Food Production, Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in hotel, restaurant, kitchen support, or hospitality services.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and hospitality standards.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Good organizational skills with a focus on cleanliness.
