Graduate Internship – Enterprise Development (RANGE) – Isiolo

About the role

The Graduate Internship in Enterprise Development supports Mercy Corps’ RANGE Program in Isiolo, Kenya. Interns will work closely with the private‑sector engagement team to identify and build partnerships that strengthen market systems and improve livelihoods.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, profile and engage potential private‑sector partners, entrepreneurs and market actors through market scans and stakeholder mapping.
• Conduct basic financial and market analysis of business opportunities and partnership proposals, providing evidence‑based insights for investment decisions.
• Track work plans, milestones, budgets and deliverables; collect and analyse performance data; prepare progress reports and recommendations.
• Facilitate coordination among private‑sector partners, county governments, local implementing partners, community institutions and other stakeholders.
• Document emerging business opportunities, lessons learned and success stories; support learning events and knowledge‑product development.
• Allocate 5 % of time to organizational learning activities and adhere to Mercy Corps safeguarding and accountability standards.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final‑year student in business, economics, development studies or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with interest in market systems and partnership development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to learning, accountability and safeguarding principles.
