Head, Leadership & Capability Development

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a senior leader to design and deliver a global learning and capability development strategy. The Head, Leadership & Capability Development will shape curricula, drive talent management initiatives and embed inclusive learning practices across all offices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a scalable learning and development strategy, frameworks and curricula covering leadership, management, personal effectiveness and other capability areas.
• Design, deliver and oversee the Global Leadership and Management Curriculum to strengthen SCI leadership behaviours.
• Collaborate with People Partners, Head of Talent and other stakeholders to assess learning needs, create learning plans and implement high‑quality development programmes.
• Integrate diversity, equity and inclusion principles into all training materials and delivery methods.
• Evaluate programme effectiveness, report on impact and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee global talent management processes including succession planning, performance management and learning evaluation.
• Manage a team of four learning professionals, providing coaching and performance oversight.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in learning and development, talent management or organisational capability building, preferably in an international or nonprofit setting.
• Demonstrated ability to design and scale curricula for diverse, global audiences.
• Strong understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion best practices in learning.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple regions.
• Unrestricted right to work in the chosen location and willingness to travel up to 5% internationally.
