Head of Engineering – Supply Chain

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is expanding its POS hardware and device platforms into Kenya and needs a senior technology leader to own the software that powers inventory, logistics and repair operations for millions of terminals. The Head of Engineering, Supply Chain will define the technical vision and guide a distributed team to deliver reliable, data‑driven supply‑chain solutions at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical strategy and architecture for inventory, logistics and repair‑management platforms.
• Lead an engineering organisation of ~25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE and data engineers, and grow the team to 30+ members.
• Drive platformisation to make operational data visible, trustworthy and consistent across all devices.
• Bridge operational practices with software systems, delivering disciplined, production‑ready solutions.
• Set architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics to ensure reliability and data integrity.
• Collaborate with business and operational stakeholders to translate requirements into engineering deliverables.
• Recruit, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large, remote engineering teams delivering backend and distributed systems.
• Strong background in designing scalable, high‑availability platforms for inventory or logistics domains.
• Ability to translate complex operational workflows into robust software solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
