Junior Accountant (Nairobi)

About the role

CrossBoundary Group is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Nairobi. This full‑time position offers early‑career professionals the chance to develop solid accounting fundamentals while supporting multi‑entity financial operations across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Record and code financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Support accounts payable and receivable, including invoice tracking and payment follow‑ups.
• Upload bank statements and assist with bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets.
• Maintain the general ledger, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and fixed‑asset register.
• Process employee expense reports and assist with cash‑flow tracking.
• Provide documentation for audits and support statutory filings.
• Offer general administrative and ad‑hoc assistance to the finance team.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, including internships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Progress toward a professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic familiarity with accounting systems such as Xero or Sage.
