Laborer/Operator – Field Operations

About the role

North Wind Response & Reclamation is seeking a reliable Laborer/Operator to support daily field operations across multiple sites in Ohio and West Virginia. The role involves general labor, site preparation, and safe operation of small equipment in varied weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties in outdoor environments to support construction and site operations.
• Assist the Site Superintendent with daily assignments, material movement, and heavy‑equipment support.
• Operate small equipment such as chippers, skid steers, and related machinery safely and efficiently.
• Maintain electronic timecards, daily logs, and basic Excel documentation.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage tools, equipment, and materials at various job sites.
• Conduct routine inspection, cleaning, and basic maintenance of tools, vehicles, trailers, and small equipment.
• Support traffic control, site cleanup, erosion control, and trailer towing as directed.

Required profile

• Dependable, self‑motivated, and adaptable to changing project scopes and locations.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining safety and productivity.
• Willingness to travel extensively (75‑100% of the time) and obtain any required government clearance.

Required skills

• Safe operation of skid steers and chippers.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel for timekeeping and reporting.
• Routine inspection and basic maintenance of tools and small equipment.
