Machine Operator

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Machine Operator for its manufacturing business in Ruiru. The operator runs factory machinery according to standard procedures, keeps production running smoothly and helps keep quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned factory machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Set up machines before production runs and adjust settings as required
• Monitor machine performance and output to ensure quality standards are met
• Record production data and maintain accurate logs
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to reduce downtime
• Report major faults to the maintenance team and assist in preventive maintenance schedules
• Ensure products meet quality specifications, follow safety protocols and wear protective equipment
• Maintain a clean and organised work area and adhere to company policies and regulatory standards
• Interpret machine manuals, document performance and maintenance activities, and communicate with supervisors and team members

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Candidates with technical training from NYS or NITA are encouraged to apply
• 2-3 years' experience operating factory machinery in a manufacturing environment

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of factory machinery operation
• Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to interpret machine manuals and technical instructions
