Machine Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Machine Operator in Ruiru within the manufacturing industry. The operator runs, monitors and maintains production machinery so that manufacturing stays efficient, output remains high quality and safety standards are met. The role calls for technical knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to spot and fix basic machine problems.

Key responsibilities

• Operate production machines according to procedures and schedules, set them up, adjust and calibrate them, load raw materials and feed them correctly.
• Maintain production records covering output, downtime and machine performance.
• Inspect finished products against quality standards, identify defects and follow quality control procedures, reporting concerns to the supervisor.
• Carry out routine checks and basic preventive maintenance, report faults and assist maintenance teams during repairs.
• Keep machines clean and in good condition, and follow health and safety rules, PPE and company policies.
• Work with production teams to hit daily targets, update supervisors on machine issues and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field from NYS or a reputable institution.
• 1-2 years' experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a tissue manufacturing company is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of machine operation, production processes and equipment handling.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
