Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Siemens is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support its Buffalo Grove, IL factory, which serves customers throughout the greater Chicago area. You will work on a variety of maintenance and repair projects, ensuring equipment reliability and safety in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute assigned maintenance or repair projects, including budgeting and resource allocation.
• Analyze technical problems on site and develop solutions.
• Set up maintenance projects, assign work orders, and monitor progress.
• Serve as the first point of contact for complex technical issues.
• Oversee ramp‑up, set‑up, and start‑up procedures for machines and equipment.
• Plan and complete on‑site installation projects while ensuring proper documentation.
• Maintain technical documentation for processes and equipment.
• Advise technicians on maintenance and repair activities.
• Promote a strong safety mindset, adhering to LOTO, confined‑space, and electrical safety standards.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance, reliability, or engineering within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven troubleshooting expertise for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in high‑volume production environments is highly desirable.
• Commitment to safety practices and procedures.
