Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer will ensure the continuity and resilience of Siemens' supply chain by proactively identifying risks, managing component lifecycles, and driving quality improvements across suppliers and internal teams. This role combines technical expertise with strategic supplier engagement to support manufacturing relocation, product development, and sustainable problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks to maintain continuity and resilience.
• Act as a key user of digital tools for the SQE community and provide feedback on SQM processes.
• Define and implement cross‑functional commodity strategies and manage component portfolios, including phase‑out and new technology qualification.
• Initiate, release, and control parts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
• Support manufacturing relocation projects by qualifying parts and suppliers for new locations.
• Conduct incident, complaint, and claim management using 8D methodology and coordinate supplier audits.
• Negotiate and manage quality agreements, drive continuous improvement programs, and develop supplier performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in continuous improvement and quality assurance within an industrial environment.
• Strong background in strategic procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier development.
• Advanced knowledge of non‑conformance handling, risk assessment, and root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively across R&D, manufacturing, and procurement teams.
