Mathematics Expert – Remote Short‑Term Contract

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified mathematics expert to design and solve challenging problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. This short‑term remote contract offers immediate start and flexible collaboration with AI researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced mathematics problems for LLM evaluation benchmarks.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to develop new evaluation tasks spanning undergraduate to PhD‑level mathematics.
• Analyze complex mathematical questions using a logical, structured approach.
• Explain mathematical concepts in simple language, supported by visuals and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and creative thinking abilities.
• Excellent written communication and ability to work effectively in a remote team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO-07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR‑Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.
