Mechanical Technician

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Mechanical Technician in Ruiru within the manufacturing industry. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance of production machinery, troubleshooting, equipment monitoring and maintenance documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on machines and equipment and diagnose and repair mechanical faults in production machinery.
• Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime and repair or replace defective parts.
• Conduct root cause analysis of recurring mechanical failures.
• Monitor machine performance, ensure proper lubrication, alignment and calibration, and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records and reports on performance and downtime, and update maintenance schedules and work orders.
• Follow workplace safety standards, use tools and protective equipment correctly and keep the work area clean and safe.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience in mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
• Good technical and mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
