Operations Associate (GS-6) – Fixed Term – Nairobi

About the role

The Operations Associate will provide essential administrative support to the Programme Risk Management (PMR) team within UNICEF's Regional Operations section for East and Southern Africa (ESAR). Based in Nairobi, the role contributes to the efficient planning, monitoring and reporting of government and civil‑society partnerships at country office level.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day administrative assistance to the PMR team, including scheduling, document preparation and record‑keeping.
• Collect, compile and analyse data related to programme implementation, risk assessments and partnership performance.
• Support the preparation of reports, dashboards and presentations for senior management and country offices.
• Assist in the coordination of HACT assurance planning, CSO collaboration and compliance with Social and Environmental Standards.
• Maintain filing systems and ensure timely dissemination of relevant information across the regional office.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent professional experience in administration, public policy, international development or a related field.
• Experience working in an international organization or multi‑stakeholder environment is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic data analysis and reporting capabilities.
