Operations Associate (GS-6) – Fixed Term – Nairobi

About the role

The Operations Associate will provide essential administrative and analytical support to the Programme Risk Management (PMR) team within UNICEF's Regional Operations section in East and Southern Africa. This fixed‑term position is based in Nairobi and contributes to the effective implementation of UNICEF’s programme risk and partnership management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day administrative assistance to the PMR team and the wider office.
• Collect, organise, and analyse data to support risk‑management, partnership monitoring and reporting.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of work‑planning, HACT assurance, and social‑environmental standards activities.
• Facilitate coordination with government entities, civil‑society organisations and internal stakeholders.
• Support the development and maintenance of documentation related to programme implementation procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in administrative support and data handling within an international or development context.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret and present data clearly.
• Familiarity with programme risk management, partnership monitoring, and compliance processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
