Production Manager - Stationery Items

About the role

MSVL Group is looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations in its stationery items business. The role reports to the Operations Manager or General Manager and covers efficient production, consistent quality, optimum machine utilization, cost control and timely delivery of customer orders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production schedules, coordinating manpower, shifts, raw materials and machines
• Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to specification, and track machine availability, utilization and downtime
• Review daily production and OEE reports, monitor variances, wastage, rejects and rework, and fix bottlenecks
• Manage skilled manpower, identify skills gaps, coordinate training with HR and motivate supervisors and operators
• Work with QC to reduce rejects, rework and complaints, using Pareto analysis and Root Cause Analysis
• Drive Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Lean Manufacturing and visual management, and lead waste-reduction and cost-saving initiatives
• Report OEE, output, costs, material usage and downtime, and ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Printing Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, Manufacturing or a related field; MBA or Master's is an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production management of stationery items
• Experience managing production teams and shifts

Required skills

• Knowledge of OEE, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
• Strong understanding of production KPIs and cost control
• Leadership, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to work under pressure

Key performance indicators include production plan achievement and schedule adherence of at least 95%, machine availability and utilization of at least 95%, OEE target of 75%, TPM compliance of at least 90%, 5S audit score of at least 85%, and zero workplace accidents.
