Project Controls Engineer – OCONUS (Nairobi, Kenya)

About the role

The Project Controls Engineer will support a U.S. Department of State contract based in Nairobi, Kenya. This role manages cost, schedule, and contract administration for a large construction project, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage OBO office operations related to contract cost and schedule.
• Prepare reports, control documentation, and maintain daily construction logs.
• Review contractor submittals, as‑built drawings, and monthly payment applications.
• Evaluate contract modification requests and assist in quantity take‑offs and Independent Government Estimates.
• Support the Project Director/COR in contract administration, negotiations, and claim interpretation.
• Participate in meetings, prepare minutes, and coordinate with project staff.
• Mentor administrative staff and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction project controls on similarly sized projects.
• Ability to obtain an Interim or Final TS security clearance before deployment.
• Proven experience with cost management, schedule management, change order and submittal management.
