Senior Biostatistician – Real World Evidence

About the role

ICON plc is seeking a Senior Biostatistician with expertise in Real World Evidence (RWE) to support a leading pharmaceutical client. In this leadership position you will guide statistical aspects of clinical and pre‑clinical projects, working closely with senior biostatisticians and cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior biostatisticians with study design, sample‑size calculations, patient randomisation and data analysis.
• Support case report form development and statistical aspects of its design.
• Write statistical analysis plans, define derived data, and design tables/figures for clinical summary reports.
• Develop and execute data manipulation and analysis programs using relevant computer languages and statistical software.
• Prepare statistical summary reports and contribute to methods sections of integrated study reports.
• Document analysis and programming work for audit‑trail purposes and maintain project‑specific biostatistics files.
• Collaborate with data management, statistical programming and clinical research personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in biostatistics within the pharmaceutical, clinical research or healthcare industry.
• Hands‑on experience with Real World Evidence using claims, EHRs or registry data.
• Strong knowledge of statistical concepts, study design and sample‑size methodology.

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical software packages.
• Ability to write and implement programs in computer languages for data selection, retrieval, manipulation and analysis.
• Data‑analysis and data‑manipulation expertise.
