Senior Legal Associate

About the role

Centum Investment Company Plc is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Associate to provide legal support across its investment portfolio, corporate transactions and business operations. The role is full‑time, on‑site in Nairobi and requires a strong background in corporate and commercial law.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage complex contracts, agreements and other legal documentation.
• Provide strategic legal advice on investment transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings.
• Conduct legal due diligence on prospective investments, acquisitions and business partnerships.
• Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, corporate governance requirements and internal policies.
• Liaise with external counsel, regulators, government agencies and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• LLB degree and admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
• Valid practising certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑admission legal experience, preferably in corporate, commercial, M&A and investment transactions.

Required skills

• Strong contract negotiation and legal drafting abilities.
• Proven experience in legal research and due diligence.
• Ability to advise business units on legal risks and recommend mitigation measures.
