Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Share is building an open‑access internet infrastructure across Africa, aggregating fiber, transit, peering and data‑center capacity for ISPs. We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to own and scale the core routing, switching and access layers while working closely with ISP partners.

Key responsibilities

• Own the BGP routing and peering core on AS329621, managing IP transit, public and private peering, and route policies.
• Design, deploy and operate MPLS L3VPN and EVPN services for partner isolation and multi‑tenant scaling.
• Run a disaggregated white‑box switching fabric using SONiC, IP Infusion OcNOS or similar, handling L2/L3 aggregation, VLANs, MC‑LAG/EVPN‑VXLAN and QoS.
• Operate BNG edge functions including PPPoE/IPoE termination, QoS, CGNAT and CoA‑driven session control.
• Plan, deploy and maintain GPON and XGS‑PON passive optical access, OLT/ONU configuration and fiber plant troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with ISP partners using MikroTik RouterOS/SwOS and Huawei GPON equipment to resolve issues.
• Support the services plane alongside the Systems team handling AAA, FreeRADIUS, containerized instances and integration with billing systems.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in ISP‑grade network engineering and partner‑facing environments.
• Strong understanding of routing, peering, MPLS, and optical access technologies.
• Ability to work independently and guide partners from onboarding to full operational baseline.
