Shop Business Executive

About the role

The Shop Business Executive will lead the growth and operational excellence of convenience shop operations across our service‑station network in Nairobi. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day shop management, driving non‑fuel revenue, and ensuring a consistent, high‑quality customer experience at every location.

Key responsibilities

• Design layouts for new shops and identify stations suitable for retail operations.
• Lead shop modernization projects, including planograms, space productivity and layout optimisation.
• Grow non‑fuel income through category expansion, food‑to‑go concepts and strategic retail partnerships.
• Implement initiatives to increase basket size, footfall conversion and gross‑margin performance.
• Develop assortment strategies based on consumer insights and local demographics.
• Support supplier negotiations, rebate agreements, joint business planning and promotional calendars.
• Monitor pricing competitiveness against modern trade and informal retail.
• Provide training on merchandising, stock management and retail execution standards.
• Visit service stations regularly to ensure operational compliance and HSSE alignment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in supermarket retail management, FMCG category management/trade marketing or multi‑site retail operations.
• Experience in petroleum retail or forecourt convenience operations is an advantage.
• Proven track record of driving sales growth and margin improvement across multiple outlets.
