About the role
ICON plc is seeking a Statistical Programmer II to join its clinical research team. In this position you will develop, validate, and maintain statistical programs that support data analysis and reporting for clinical trials, ensuring high‑quality results that meet regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and maintain complex statistical programs (primarily in R) for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
- Lead one or more studies, acting as the main point of contact for the sponsor.
- Collaborate with biostatisticians and cross‑functional teams to interpret study requirements and implement statistical analyses accurately.
- Prepare and review statistical analysis plans, programming specifications, and derived datasets in line with regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with ICH/GCP and other industry regulations throughout the programming lifecycle.
- Mentor junior programmers and provide training on best programming practices.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus).
- Proven experience as a statistical programmer in clinical research, ideally 3+ years.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying statistical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
