System, Network and Security Administrator (Entry Level)

About the role

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is recruiting a System, Network and Security Administrator (Grade IPOA 9, 1 position) within its Directorate of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Infrastructure, Security and Support, reporting to the Senior Assistant Director, ICT. The role covers configuration, maintenance and operation of the Authority's network, servers, desktop and storage infrastructure, and maintenance of its ICT security systems. The advertised salary is KSh 90,000 - 130,000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of policies, strategies, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures relating to ICT systems, networks and security, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, statutes and circulars.
• Configure, manage, maintain and secure ICT infrastructure, programmes and equipment.
• Implement ICT systems and networks.
• Maintain ICT systems, network and security equipment and inventory.
• Provide ICT technical support within the Authority.
• Initiate corrective actions, system safeguards and recovery plans in case of disaster or data loss.
• Update all records in the division and consolidate data for internal and external reports.
• Implement risk mitigation measures and develop individual work plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology, Information Communication Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• Professional certification in any two of: CCNA, MCSA and a certificate in ethical hacking.
