Technical Support Consultant for Vaccine Portfolio Optimization (Remote)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to provide technical and analytical support for New Vaccine Introduction, Integrated Delivery and Reach activities. The consultant will work remotely while traveling to selected Gavi‑eligible low‑ and middle‑income countries to assist with vaccine portfolio optimization and integration into national immunization strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based technical assistance on Vaccine Portfolio Optimization and Prioritization (VPOP) processes.
• Strengthen planning, coordination, and strategy design for new vaccine introductions.
• Ensure VPOP outputs are incorporated into National Immunization Strategy (NIS) updates or development.
• Support countries in aligning vaccine introductions with Gavi 6.0 priorities and country vaccine budgets.
• Document and disseminate best practices, tools, and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Senior technical expert with experience in vaccine introduction, portfolio optimization, and public‑health planning.
• Proven experience working with Gavi, WHO, ministries of health, or similar partners.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and evidence‑based decision‑making skills.
• Ability to travel to multiple country sites and work remotely.
