Technical Writer for Behavioural and Social Drivers Survey Manuscripts (Remote, 35 days)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a technical writer to lead the drafting, development, and submission of scientific manuscripts based on Behavioural and Social Drivers (BeSD) study findings across eight countries. This remote, 35‑day consultancy will support knowledge translation for global immunisation policy.

Key responsibilities

• Review and synthesize study materials, datasets, reports, and background documents from eight BeSD country studies.
• Develop structured outlines for each manuscript, defining framing, research questions, and key messages.
• Draft eight country‑specific manuscripts, ensuring analytical rigour and alignment with target journal requirements.
• Produce a cross‑country synthesis manuscript highlighting common patterns and policy implications.
• Conduct targeted literature reviews to contextualise findings.
• Create figures, tables, and visualisations to support data presentation.
• Incorporate feedback from UNICEF, partners, and co‑authors through multiple review rounds.
• Support manuscript submission, respond to peer reviewer comments, and guide publications to peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social and Behaviour Science, Science Communication, Scientific Writing or a related field.
• 7–10 years of professional experience in scientific writing, research translation, or knowledge management within global health, immunisation, or related sectors.
• Proven track record of drafting and publishing peer‑reviewed manuscripts in high‑impact journals.
