Temporary Upper Primary Teacher (Year 6) – 0.4 FTE

About the role

Blakeview Primary School is seeking a part‑time teacher to join its supportive staff. The role involves delivering Year 6 lessons on Mondays and mixed Year 5/6 instruction on Fridays, providing a consistent learning experience for upper primary students.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 6 and Year 5/6 classes.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a trauma‑informed classroom environment.
• Implement the Zones of Regulation programme across classes.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
• Available for a 0.4 FTE fixed‑term contract from 01/06/2026 to 11/12/2026.
• Experience with upper primary students preferred.
• Strong organisational skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed practice.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the primary curriculum up to Year 6.
• Familiarity with the Zones of Regulation framework.
• Understanding of trauma‑informed teaching approaches.
