About the role
Blakeview Primary School is seeking a part‑time teacher to join its supportive staff. The role involves delivering Year 6 lessons on Mondays and mixed Year 5/6 instruction on Fridays, providing a consistent learning experience for upper primary students.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 6 and Year 5/6 classes.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a trauma‑informed classroom environment.
- Implement the Zones of Regulation programme across classes.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
- Available for a 0.4 FTE fixed‑term contract from 01/06/2026 to 11/12/2026.
- Experience with upper primary students preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Commitment to trauma‑informed practice.
Required skills
- Knowledge of the primary curriculum up to Year 6.
- Familiarity with the Zones of Regulation framework.
- Understanding of trauma‑informed teaching approaches.
