Vehicle Condition Inspector

About the role

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Vehicle Condition Inspector to join its growing team. The role involves inspecting vehicles at dealerships, auctions and off‑lease locations, producing detailed condition reports and supporting the sales process. You will be the face of the company, helping customers understand vehicle status with clarity and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify damage, missing parts and mechanical issues.
• Capture comprehensive photographs and upload them to the company image server using a smart‑phone.
• Prepare and submit detailed condition reports, including repair or replacement cost estimates.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Collaborate with Territory Managers and sales teams to upsell services and ensure client satisfaction.
• Travel to dealerships and client locations, representing the company on‑site.
• Assist independent dealerships in registering as buyers on the digital platform.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint, or mechanical repair) with a customer‑service focus.
• Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak).
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform manual labour (standing, lifting ≥ 25 lb, bending, squatting).
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a registered, insured vehicle.
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work independently and within a team.
• No immigration or work‑visa sponsorship available.
