Visual Arts Teacher (Part-time)

About the role

The Part‑Time Visual Arts Teacher will deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate visual arts instruction to early years and elementary students. Working 2‑3 days per week, the teacher will foster creativity, visual literacy, and confidence through a variety of art forms while collaborating with classroom teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver visual arts lessons covering drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media.
• Introduce age‑appropriate techniques, materials, artists, and cultural traditions.
• Integrate visual arts with the Sankore curriculum, Kenyan and African artistic heritage, and STEAM themes.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including language and sensory needs.
• Organise student art exhibitions, displays, and contributions to school events.
• Maintain safeguarding, child protection, and wellbeing standards at all times.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Design, Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification or demonstrable experience teaching visual arts to children.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching or facilitating visual arts with early years or primary‑aged learners.
• Commitment to safeguarding and creating an inclusive, safe studio environment.
