Waiter - School Dining Service

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time waiter for its school dining service in Ongata Rongai. The role covers serving meals and drinks to students and staff, keeping dining areas tidy and following hygiene and safety procedures. The salary is KSh 22,000, negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Serve meals, drinks and refreshments to students and staff courteously, efficiently and in an orderly way.
• Set up and clear dining areas before and after meals, keeping tables, serving areas and utensils clean and organised.
• Help with portioning, replenishing food and keeping meal service smooth during busy periods.
• Maintain personal hygiene and food-service hygiene, and follow the school's health, safety and food-handling procedures.
• Interact respectfully with students, teachers and staff, helping students who need assistance while keeping professional boundaries.
• Report spills, damaged equipment, shortages or other concerns to the supervisor promptly.
• Work with kitchen staff and other service personnel so meals are served on time, and assist with other dining-room duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a waiter, food service attendant, catering assistant or in a similar role is required.
• Experience in a school, institution, hotel, restaurant or other organised food-service setting is an added advantage.
• Hardworking, punctual, reliable and physically active, able to work extended hours when required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and respectful approach to students.
• Neat, presentable, team-oriented and committed to high standards of cleanliness and service.
