Accountant / Finance Associate

About the role

We are seeking a sharp, tech‑savvy Accountant / Finance Associate to professionalise our finances and support the scaling of our cleaning and moving services. You will act as the financial backbone of the business, ensuring profitability, compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including profit & loss and balance sheets.
• Manage invoicing for commercial cleaning contracts and moving services, and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Process payments for payroll, equipment maintenance, supplies, fuel and other operational overheads.
• Prepare and file VAT, PAYE and other statutory tax returns.
• Maintain an accurate register of company assets and monitor inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Perform daily/weekly bank and M‑Pay (M‑Pesa) reconciliations.
• Analyse project‑level labour, material and fuel costs to provide profitability insights.
• Support external audits by providing required documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or ACCA qualification (fully or partially qualified).
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in service, hospitality or logistics.
• Strong ethics, ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero or Sage.
• Advanced Excel skills.
