Petroleum Audit & Risk Analyst – Entry Level

About the role

This entry‑level position supports the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum in auditing petroleum operations and assessing related risks. The analyst will work under senior supervision, gaining hands‑on experience in compliance reviews, financial verification and field inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse information required for petroleum audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Assist in reviewing work programmes, budgets, field development plans and other petroleum proposals.
• Monitor compliance with petroleum agreements, government approvals, statutory payments, guarantees and other obligations.
• Participate in examination of upstream petroleum operations books of account.
• Verify accounting entries, material records, inventories, vouchers, invoices and related documents.
• Inspect plants, facilities and warehouses of petroleum operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance), Business Administration (Accounting), Accounting & Finance, Economics & Finance or a related discipline from a recognised Kenyan university.
• Successful completion of Part III of the CPA examination, Part III of the ACCA examination, or an equivalent professional qualification.

What we offer

• Salary range KES 61,710 – 82,520 per month (visible).
• House allowance KES 16,500 per month and commuter allowance KES 5,000 per month.
