Accountant – Finance & Reporting (Mid Level)

About the role

Brites Management Services Limited is seeking a diligent Accountant to join its finance team in Westlands, Nairobi. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting cycles, and ensuring statutory compliance in a fast‑paced IT & Telecom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, prepare journals, ledgers and supporting schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Process supplier invoices, payment vouchers and monitor accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform regular bank, supplier and customer reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee daily cash flow, petty‑cash and imprest accounts, ensuring proper banking of collections.
• Manage inventory records, conduct periodic stock counts and safeguard company assets.
• Prepare and file statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, SHIF, NSSF) and liaise with auditors and tax authorities.
• Support internal and external audit processes and uphold internal control procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Experience in a technology‑driven or fast‑paced environment is an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset, high accuracy and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with accounting software.
