Application Support & Implementation Intern

About the role

This internship offers hands‑on experience in supporting and implementing software applications for a growing tech company in Nairobi. You will work closely with the development team to resolve user issues, assist with deployments, and contribute to reporting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line application support and troubleshoot user problems.
• Assist in software implementation, configuration, and deployment activities.
• Support development and maintenance of applications built with the Yii PHP framework.
• Help create and maintain BIRT reports.
• Write and optimise SQL queries; support database management tasks.
• Participate in testing, debugging, documentation, and ongoing application maintenance.
• Assist with application deployments and upkeep in Linux environments.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least one (1) year of practical exposure to application development, implementation or technical support through internships, projects, freelance work or employment.
