Applied Science Trainer

About the role

The Applied Science Department at Shamberere Technical Training Institute is seeking a dedicated Trainer to deliver curriculum‑based instruction and support trainee development. This full‑time position involves classroom teaching, practical supervision, and collaborative research under senior guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver training in specialized applied science subjects according to the approved curriculum.
• Prepare teaching and learning materials, develop lesson plans, and design assessment tools.
• Set, administer, and mark assessments to evaluate trainee progress.
• Conduct research activities under the supervision of a senior trainer.
• Supervise trainee projects, practical work, and on‑the‑job attachments.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by department leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in the relevant discipline.
• Pedagogy in Education qualification and mandatory TVETA registration.
• Minimum of one year of relevant teaching or training experience.
• Registration with a professional body or association where applicable.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
