Area Sales Manager – Detergent/FMCG

About the role

The Area Sales Manager will lead the sales effort for our detergent and cleaning product portfolio across the Westlands region of Nairobi. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will develop and execute territory plans that align with company growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales strategies for the assigned territory.
• Lead, supervise and support a team of Sales Representatives.
• Set sales targets, monitor performance against KPIs and report results.
• Drive product sales through wholesalers, distributors, retailers and institutional customers.
• Identify new market opportunities, customers and distribution channels.
• Maintain strong relationships with key partners and conduct regular market visits.
• Track competitor activities, pricing, promotions and market trends.
• Ensure product availability, monitor stock levels and coordinate with logistics.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales and market reports.
• Coach and mentor sales staff to improve productivity.
• Handle major customer complaints and coordinate with finance to manage outstanding debts.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of sales experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or Area Sales Manager role within the detergent, cleaning products or home‑care sector.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a sales team.
