Assistant Casting Coordinator

About the role

The Assistant Casting Coordinator supports Casting Directors, clients and background actors throughout the casting process at Entertainment Partners and Central Casting. Working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, the role serves as a primary point of contact for day‑to‑day logistics and helps ensure smooth production workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of inbound calls and voicemails from clients and background actors, providing professional and urgent responses.
• Communicate call‑time changes, booking details, and availability via phone, email or text, and coordinate last‑minute replacements and additional hires.
• Maintain and transition workflow across shifts, updating casting briefings and finalizing pending show information.
• Prepare and manage production paperwork such as call sheets, prelims, final prelims, clearances, Taft‑Hartley forms and occurrence reports.
• Compile nightly lists of background actors for SAG‑AFTRA and studio security when required.
• Develop knowledge of union contracts, adult and child labor laws, and apply them to pre‑booking and day‑to‑day logistics.
• Utilise internal casting software (EPCP) and Microsoft Office tools to document and share information.

Required profile

• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, overnight and weekends.
• Interest in entertainment casting and ability to work under the supervision of a Casting Director.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Experience using Zoom for virtual meetings.
• Familiarity with EPCP or similar casting management software.
