Associate Advocate – Litigation & Corporate Law

About the role

Sheikh & Company Advocates is a growing law firm seeking a motivated Associate Advocate to support its litigation and corporate advisory practice in Nairobi. You will work under the supervision of partners and senior associates, handling a variety of legal matters for corporate and private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft opinions, memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Represent clients before courts, tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution forums.
• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution, ensuring compliance with court deadlines.
• Assist in corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, due diligence, and conveyancing.
• Handle land registration processes and prepare security documentation for financing arrangements.

Required profile

• Advocate of the High Court in good standing.
• Minimum three years post‑admission experience in a reputable law firm.
• Demonstrated experience in litigation, commercial law, or corporate advisory.
• Strong analytical, drafting and research abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments independently.
