BESS Technician – Civil & Structural Support

About the role

Miale Solar is expanding its engineering team to deliver commercial and industrial solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The BESS Technician will provide on‑site civil and structural support, from site assessment through construction, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in site surveys, set‑out foundations, equipment pads and mounting structures, and ensure required tools and materials are available.
• Carry out excavation, grading, compaction, drainage, trenching, reinforcement, formwork, concreting and structural steel works according to approved drawings.
• Support installation of PV mounting structures and BESS foundations, verify dimensions and alignment, and report any discrepancies.
• Perform basic quality checks, maintain inspection records, and immediately report unsafe conditions or non‑conformances.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors and consultants to ensure designs are practical, compliant and delivered on schedule.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in construction, solar PV or BESS installation, or a similar technical environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts and site instructions.
• Basic understanding of construction quality standards and health & safety requirements.
