Brand Manager – Pharmaceutical & Consumer Healthcare

About the role

Our client, a growing pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare company, is looking for an experienced, commercially‑driven Brand Manager to lead the launch and development of a new product in Kenya, with potential expansion to other African markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute brand strategy and marketing plan in collaboration with the principal, local importer, distributors and agency.
• Coordinate ATL and BTL activities (TV, radio, sampling, consumer activation) and monitor implementation to meet sales and brand targets.
• Lead launch events and negotiate listings, visibility and displays with pharmacies, supermarkets and other retail buyers.
• Drive distribution expansion across key cities and high‑potential channels together with distributor sales teams.
• Analyse market trends, consumer insights and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and translate them into go‑to‑market plans.
• Measure campaign performance, KPIs and ROI, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field; postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Brand Manager or Marketing Manager in pharmaceuticals, OTC, consumer healthcare or FMCG, preferably with international brands.
• Demonstrated success in launching new products from pre‑launch planning through market entry and post‑launch optimisation.
• Strong analytical, data‑driven approach with ability to develop and monitor brand performance indicators.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Good understanding of the Kenyan consumer market and broader African market trends.
