Business Development Manager – Telecoms & Digital Services

About the role

We are partnering with a leading global technology and digital media company to hire a Business Development Manager based in Kenya. The role focuses on managing and expanding strategic partnerships with mobile operators across East Africa, driving revenue growth and ensuring the performance of key accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop relationships with major mobile operators and strategic partners across East Africa.
• Drive revenue growth in existing accounts and identify new commercial opportunities.
• Lead negotiations, presentations, and regular business reviews with senior stakeholders.
• Design and execute promotional and customer‑acquisition campaigns with operator partners.
• Monitor revenue, acquisitions, churn, engagement and other commercial KPIs.
• Collaborate with internal product, technology, marketing and operations teams to meet partner requirements.
• Manage new initiatives and product launches from discussion through implementation.
• Track competitor activity and emerging market trends.
• Ensure accurate invoicing and collections for assigned accounts.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in business development, key account management, partnerships or commercial roles.
• Strong background in telecommunications, mobile VAS, digital services or related digital ecosystems.
• Proven experience working directly with mobile network operators in Kenya or East Africa.
• Commercial mindset with a track record of meeting revenue and growth targets.
• Excellent relationship‑management and stakeholder‑influencing abilities.
• Confident presenter and negotiator with senior decision‑makers.
• Strong analytical capability to turn performance data into commercial actions.
• Proactive, self‑driven and results‑focused attitude.
