Chinese Translator

About the role

Yuanzheng Infrastructure Construction Limited is seeking a skilled Chinese Translator to support its construction projects across Kenya. The role involves converting technical, administrative, and marketing documents between Mandarin and English while ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Translate contracts, reports, project correspondence, and other materials between Chinese and English.
• Provide interpretation support during meetings, site visits, and project discussions.
• Proofread and edit translated content for grammar, terminology, and clarity.
• Maintain consistent terminology specific to the construction industry and the company.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and other teams to understand technical requirements.
• Manage multiple translation requests and meet tight project deadlines.
• Ensure confidentiality of all company, project, and client information.

Required profile

• Diploma, degree or certificate in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Studies, Languages, or a related field.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both spoken and written.
• Previous experience in translation, interpretation, or a similar role.
• Experience in a construction, engineering, or technical environment is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Chinese‑English technical and business terminology.
• Excellent proofreading, editing, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
