Civil Engineer – Construction & Site Supervision (Nairobi)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to lead day‑to‑day construction and site supervision for the Magnate City development in Nairobi. The role involves ensuring all civil and infrastructure works are executed to approved drawings, specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise earthworks, road works, storm‑water drainage, water reticulation, sewer systems, foundations, reinforced concrete, masonry and landscaping works.
• Conduct regular site inspections, verify setting‑out, levels and dimensions, and address any workmanship or technical deficiencies.
• Review civil and structural drawings, method statements, RFIs and material approvals, coordinating with architects, structural engineers, quantity surveyors and MEP consultants.
• Monitor contractor performance against approved programmes, prepare progress reports and flag delays or risks to management.
• Ensure quality control by witnessing field and laboratory tests (concrete, soil compaction, aggregate) and maintaining inspection records.
• Support cost monitoring and material control in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in construction site supervision and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction standards, drawings interpretation and quality assurance procedures.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical issues clearly.
