About the role
Our client, a well‑established law firm in Upper Hill, Nairobi, is seeking an ambitious Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate to join its growing practice. The successful candidate will manage conveyancing and commercial transactions, advise clients on complex legal matters and deliver practical solutions while upholding the highest professional standards.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee commercial and conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion.
- Conduct legal due diligence, title investigations and risk assessments for property and corporate deals.
- Draft, review and negotiate sale agreements, leases, transfers, charges, securities and other commercial contracts.
- Coordinate execution, stamping and registration of legal instruments with relevant government agencies.
- Advise clients on commercial, corporate, property and real‑estate matters, providing business‑oriented legal solutions.
- Liaise with financial institutions, government offices, surveyors, valuers, estate agents and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transactions.
- Support corporate transactions by reviewing contractual obligations, identifying legal risks and recommending safeguards.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and ensure matters progress within agreed timelines.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting commercial and conveyancing practice.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to enhance satisfaction and support business growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver high‑quality legal services.
Required profile
- At least 2 years post‑admission experience in a busy law firm.
- Upper second class LLB degree from a recognized university.
- Valid practising certificate.
Required skills
- Excellent legal drafting, analytical and research abilities.
- Strong commercial awareness and sound legal judgment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
