Consultant – Forest Law Enforcement

About the role

The World Agroforestry Centre (CIFOR) is seeking qualified consultants to support forest law enforcement initiatives. This position will work within a multicultural, multidisciplinary team to promote compliance with forest regulations and contribute to sustainable forest management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on forest law enforcement policies and practices.
• Assist in the development and implementation of monitoring and compliance strategies.
• Collaborate with partners, NGOs, and government agencies to strengthen enforcement mechanisms.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in law, environmental studies, forestry, or a related field.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional international language(s) an advantage.
• Experience working in non‑profit or international development settings is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
